WHAT: Join us at beautiful Butler Lake for the 59th Operation Clean Stream to remove trash from the park and waterfront of the Meramec River. This is a land-based cleanup. Volunteers will receive a t-shirt for participating in Operation Clean Stream!
This site contains a fair amount of litter around the lake and surrounding trails, including some bigger items (including a couch!) and possibly some trash items that may be more suitable for adult volunteers. Volunteers are encouraged to wear gloves (provided) along with long boots and pants. There is some short plant growth along the hiking path that volunteers may want to walk through to gather some trash items. Insect repellent is also recommended.
WHEN: 9:00 am, Saturday, August 22nd. Volunteer check-in will begin at 8:45am.
WHERE: Butler Lake, 6421 Meramec Bottom Rd, St. Louis, MO 63128 - see map for exact location. Carpooling is recommended for groups with multiple volunteers.
WHAT TO WEAR:
- Dress for the weather
- Wear clothes that can get dirty
- Closed-toe, sturdy shoes
- Hat & sunscreen
WHAT TO BRING:
- A filled bottle of water - we recommend reusable!
- Bug spray
REGISTRATION NOTES:

- This land-based cleanup does not require a canoe/kayak
