WHAT: As part of the 59th annual Operation Clean Stream, this water-based volunteer opportunity will focus on picking up litter in the Meramec River from The Castlewood Boat Ramp to the Greentree Park Boat Ramp.
Volunteers will meet at the Castlewood Park to drop boats off at the boat ramp, shuttle to Greentree park to leave cars at the takeout, then drive back to Castlewood to start the float. Please note, this particular opportunity is Bring Your Own Boat (BYOB).
WHEN: 9:00am, Saturday, August 22nd. Volunteer check-in will begin at 8:45am.
WHERE: Volunteers will meet at the Castlewood boat ramp, then shuttle cars to Greentree Park. The Castlewood boat ramp will be opened for volunteers on that day only.
Address for Castlewood Park Boat Ramp: 1401 Kiefer Creek Rd, Ballwin, MO 63021. In order to get to the boat ramp, drive through the main park entrance and drive all the way to the back of the park, under the train bridge, and park in the lot. see map for exact location.

WHAT TO WEAR:
- Dress for the weather
- Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty
- Closed-toe shoes
- Hat & sunscreen
WHAT TO BRING:
- Canoe/kayak
- A filled bottle of water - we recommend reusable!
- Insect repellent
- A change of dry clothes
- Dry bag or other sealable, waterproof bag
REGISTRATION NOTES:
- The annual OSC liability waiver must be signed and approved before a volunteer can register for this cleanup opportunity. To see if you have met this qualification, please view your profile here.
- A parent or guardian must accompany anyone under 16.
- This water-based cleanup is BRING YOUR OWN BOAT (BYOB). A canoe/kayak will not be provided for volunteers. Keep in mind that canoes are preferred for river cleanups, but kayaks can work, too!
- Given the variable nature of water-based cleanups, the time it takes to clean up a river section may vary from a few hours to most of the day. The hours listed are an estimate. Please plan accordingly.
