SITE GRADE B/C - Some Slopes. Some Brush. Recommended for ages 9 and up. Full mobility suggested. Some areas may have heavy trash & tires.
WHAT: Volunteers will meet at New Roots Urban Farm to clean up the neighborhood surrounding the farm. You'll get to meet the team at New Roots, check out the farm (take a second to look at the bunnies, the ducks, and the turkey, in addition to all of the amazing plants!), and then explore the neighborhood as you clean along the streets, to help keep them free of trash. Everyone deserves to live in a clean neighborhood! Volunteers at this site will receive free seed packets from New Roots.
All Confluence Trash Bash Volunteers will also receive our signature "I've Been Known to Talk Trash" t-shirt just for participating!
Afterward, please join us at The Audubon Center at Riverlands for the Watershed Picnic and Festival and Passport to Clean Water educational event from 11am - 2pm to celebrate our efforts and hard work! The festival will be hosted by Open Space STL, The Audubon Center at Riverlands, and The Army Corps of Engineers, and will feature free food, drinks, and activities for the whole family!
We'll also have a trash contest for all clean up participants. Did you find the biggest trash? The weirdest trash? The most bottles of Fireball? Bring them to the picnic for bragging rights... and prizes!
WHEN: 9-11am, Saturday, April 11th. Volunteer check-in will begin at 8:45am.
