SITE GRADE C - Heavy trash, Heavy brush & debris. Complete mobility is needed. Recommended for ages 16+
WHAT: Volunteers will clean the neighborhood area around the old Cementland/cement factory area, across from the South entrance of North Riverfront Park. Volunteers will not enter Cementland directly, and the cleanup will occur around the perimeter of the property. This cleanup is led by The St. Louis Cleanup Crew and The Chain of Rocks Community Association. Everyone deserves a clean, litter-free neighborhood. Come out and help us clean up this area, so that the people who live, work, and play here can enjoy trash-free lives!
After the clean up, join us at The Audubon Center at Riverlands for the Watershed Picnic and Festival and Passport to Clean Water educational event from 11am - 2pm to celebrate our efforts and hard work! The festival will be hosted by Open Space STL, The Audubon Center at Riverlands, and The Army Corps of Engineers, and will feature free food, drinks, and activities for the whole family!
We'll also have a trash contest for all clean up participants. Did you find the biggest trash? The weirdest trash? The most bottles of Fireball? Bring them to the picnic for bragging rights... and prizes!
WHEN: 9-11am, Saturday, April 11th. Volunteer check-in will begin at 8:45am.
WHERE: The cleanup will take place along the perimeter of the old Cementland/Cement Factory. Volunteers can park at the South Entrance of North Riverfront Park, 9400 Riverview Dr, St. Louis, MO 63137 - see map for exact location.
