Site Grade: A/B - Suitable for all ages and some with limited mobility. In some areas along the creek: Some Slopes. Some Brush. Full mobility suggested.
WHAT: Join us at Heman Park to remove trash from the parks and areas surrounding the River Des Peres Watershed. This site is near a shallow section of the River des Peres, in an area where the creek is accessible. While this is considered a land cleanup, volunteers may also bring waterproof boots if they would like to get in the creek to clean up in the water.
All volunteers will receive a t-shirt for participating in The River des Peres Trash Bash!
WHEN: 9:00am, Saturday, October 25th. Volunteer check-in will begin at 8:45am.
WHERE: Heman Park, 1028 Midland Blvd University City, MO 63130. Volunteers can park in the lot next to the tennis courts, exact location here.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Dress for the weather
Wear clothes that can get dirty
Closed-toe, sturdy shoes or boots
Hat & sunscreen
WHAT TO BRING:
A filled bottle of water - we recommend reusable!
Bug spray

This land-based cleanup does not require a canoe/kayak
ALL VOLUNTEERS ARE INVITED to a post-cleanup celebratory picnic at Deer Creek Park! Enjoy food, drinks, comradery, and our youth event, Passport to Clean Water!

Bring your trash to the picnic to win! (Trash must be brought to the picnic for us all to admire, unless it is too large to move.)
