WHAT: Have you ever cleaned up a park or river, only to end up with a bunch of tires and nothing to do with them? Tires can't be placed into dumpsters due to the hazards they cause in landfills, and it's getting harder to find places that will accept old tires for processing and recycling. With the limited tire processing options available for us these days, why not figure out how to dispose of them on your own! Kent Schmidt has all the information you need to learn how to do this, and he can teach you all about it.
Join us at Deer Creek Park after the River des Peres Trash Bash to learn how to deal with all these pesky tires that plague so many of us!
Volunteers will help move tires and learn to use saws and other equipment to cut up the tires so that they're safe to dispose of. This can be hard work, so come prepared in closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty!
Everyone who participates in tire processing gets a free Trash Bash t-shirt!
