Join the Open Space STL team for a unique chance to tour the Living Lands and Water Barge.

Operated by the Living Lands & Water organization, this barge is used as a floating educational and workforce development center. 


Spending up to 9 months a year living and traveling on the barge, the Living Lands & Waters’ crew hosts river cleanups, watershed conservation initiatives, workshops, tree plantings and other key conservation efforts. Since the organization was founded, Living Lands & Waters has grown to be the only “industrial strength” river cleanup organization like it in the world.


Please RSVP today if you would like to come out on October 1st from 6 pm to 7:30 pm for this guided tour and happy hour event hosted by the Open Space STL Board of Directors.  Space is strictly limited!
Here are some of the details:

UPDATED 9/30 Parking: participants can access the parking at the levee wall once they get to the parking booth, they can share with the attendant that they are here for the "classroom barge". The parking attendant will likely be Kelli or John. The parking attendant will let cars through, without paying the $10 fee. T here is plenty of space on the slanted cobblestone for everyone to park.

Food/Drinks: We will have food and beverages for the happy hour portion of the event.

Event Itinerary:
The tour will cover all areas of the barge open to the public and the tour guide will discuss the history and background on who Living Lands & Waters is, and what the MRIFC Barge is all about.

Waivers:
All guests will need to complete the Living Lands & Waters waiver prior to the event. Please complete the waiver online at:

Footwear & Clothing:
Since the event is at night, consider wearing/bringing layers! It may be a bit chilly on the barge. Also, we encourage guests to wear close-toed shoes.
