WHAT: Help the Community Stewardship Alliance enhance Gravois Creek Conservation Area by pulling invasive plant species and replacing them with new, native ones! Group will be split into 2 with one half pulling garlic mustard, the other half walking around the area looking for species to identify with iNaturalist app. Groups will switch. At the end of morning, we will reseed the pulled area with native seeds.
WHERE: Gravois Greenway at the Mysun Charitable Foundation Trailhead, 4379 Hoffmeister Ave, St. Louis, MO 63125; see map for exact location.
Volunteers will meet and check-in near the tables/bathroom area at the trailhead and then walk approximately 1/3 of a mile down the trail to the access point.
WHEN: Saturday, September 28th, from 9am to 12pm. Volunteer check-in will begin at 8:45am.
WHAT TO WEAR:
- Clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, we recommend long pants and sleeves
- Sturdy shoes or boots
- Dress for the weather!
WHAT TO BRING
- A filled bottle of water - we recommend reusable!
- Tools will be provided, but if you prefer your own, you are welcome to bring them
- Sunscreen
- Bug/tick spray, and some will be provided
