WHAT: Take a moment out of your busy schedule and join Community Stewardship Alliance for a morning of nature art and journaling at Gravois Creek Conservation Area! Participants will be provided with MDC journals and pencils courtesy of Missouri Dept. of Conservation. We will do nature art, such as pounding leaves to make imprints, poetry, sketching, and more. Bring your creative side!
We also have 30 trees to plant. We could use your help!
Gravois Creek Conservation Area is a 13.7 acre natural area is owned and maintained by the Missouri Department of Conservation and is a Community Stewardship Alliance site, with Ambassadors Besa Schweitzer & Erin Goss leading restoration efforts. This is an ongoing effort, so check back again for future opportunities!
WHERE: Gravois Greenway at the Mysun Charitable Foundation Trailhead, 4379 Hoffmeister Ave, St. Louis, MO 63125; see map for exact location. Volunteers will meet and check-in near the tables/bathroom area at the trailhead and then walk along Grant's Trail. It is about a 3/4 mile walk from the meeting location to the event site.
WHEN: 10am-12pm, Saturday, May 10th. Volunteer check-in will begin at 9:45 AM.
WHAT TO WEAR:
- Clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, we recommend long pants and sleeves
- Sturdy shoes or boots
- Dress for the weather!
WHAT TO BRING
- A filled bottle of water - we recommend reusable!
- Tools will be provided, but if you prefer your own, you are welcome to bring them
- Sunscreen
- Bug/tick spray, and some will be provided

- Pre-registration is encouraged in case of event rescheduling or cancellation
- This volunteer opportunity is open to all ages.
