WHAT: FrogWatch Training and Frog Walk at Lower Meramec Park.
Are you curious about the frogs and toads living in our wetlands, rivers, and backyards in the St. Louis region? You don’t need to be an expert to make a difference—just a love for nature and a willingness to listen.
Join Open Space Council and the Gateway FrogWatch Chapter to learn how to monitor the frogs that are living in the Swamp Woodland ecosystem at Lower Meramec Park. We’ll begin with a classroom session at Kennedy Recreation Complex to learn more about frog monitoring. Then we’ll head over to the swamp woodland, just a short walk away, for a Frog Walk.
We may set up a monitoring station with a listening device and trail cam as part of the Frog Walk. This will help us learn about the wildlife that are in the swamp woodland when we are not!
