Description

Join us in Benton Park the morning of May 2nd to give our two native garden beds some much needed love after a long winter and early spring. We wait to do work on these beds until May to allow the insects who have overwintered in the leaves and plant stalks to wake up and find their new homes.

We have two native gardens in the park; one is located at the corner of Jefferson and Arsenal and is in the middle of being revitalized, and the second is a brand new garden planted last October at Missouri and Arsenal, with the help of a grant from Brightside STL.

We will plan to weed, cut back old stalks, mulch, and water.

WHERE: We will meet here, and the intersection of Missouri and Arsenal. There is plenty of street parking along Arsenal, but please be mindful not to park in bus zones.

WHEN: Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 9:30am-12:00pm. Volunteer check-in will begin at 9:15am.

**(Inclement weather date will be Saturday, May 9th 9:30am-12:00pm)**

WHAT TO BRING:

  • A filled bottle of water - we recommend reusable!
  • Tools will be provided, feel free to bring your own gloves if you have a pair you like.
