WHAT: The north end of Unit 3 (called Wet Woodland even though it has been dry for years) is becoming choked with bush honeysuckle, and it's up to us to clear it out. The white oaks, large cottonwoods and sycamore will appreciate the attention, as will the wildlife.
WHERE: Little Creve Coeur Ecological Area 152 River Valley Drive, Chesterfield, MO 63017 Exact location here.
We will meet at the pavilion 1/4 mile north of the parking area, drive through the gate, and park at the pavilion.
WHEN: Saturday, March 28, 2026. 9am - 12 noon. Volunteer check-in will begin at 15 min before event.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, we recommend long pants and sleeves, as well as closed toe shoes.
Sturdy shoes or boots
Dress for the weather!
WHAT TO BRING:
A filled bottle of water - we recommend reusable!
Hand tools will be provided. If you prefer your own power tools, you are welcome to bring them
Sunscreen
Porta potties were present at the South Parking in December. Water for hand washing will be available
Herbicide use is encouraged but is optional; PPE is not optional for volunteers handling herbicide
Bring a friend. If time and interest we can meet afterward at the Lakehouse Grill

Pre-registration is encouraged in case of event rescheduling or cancellation
This volunteer opportunity is open to all ages. Children under 13 may volunteer only if accompanied by a parent or guardian and those 18 or under may not participate in herbicide application.
