SITE GRADE C/D - Heavy lifting. Full Mobility needed. Site may include "inappropriate" trash (condoms, drug paraphernalia, etc.) May involve heavy equipment and power tools for some of trash removed.
WHAT: Volunteers will meet at 1944 Redman Road, a large trash dump site, where they will work together to clear debris, including both construction materials and household items.
While we will have some supplies on hand, it may be helpful to bring shovels & wheelbarrows to this site, if possible.

After the clean up, join us at The Audubon Center at Riverlands for our Watershed Picnic and Festival and Passport to Clean Water educational event from 11am - 2pm to celebrate our efforts and hard work! The festival will be hosted by Open Space STL, The Audubon Center at Riverlands, The Army Corps of Engineers, and Leave No Trace, and will feature free food, drinks, and activities for the whole family! We'll also have a trash contest!. Did you find the biggest trash? The weirdest trash? The most bottles of Fireball? Bring them to the picnic for bragging rights... and prizes!
WHEN: 9:00 AM-11:00AM. Volunteer check-in will be at 8:45
WHERE: 1944 Redman Road, there is an old Quick Trip lot across the street from the dump site for parking, see map for exact location.
WHAT TO WEAR:
- Dress for the weather
- Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty
- Closed-toe sturdy shoes or waterproof boots
- Hat & sunscreen
WHAT TO BRING:
- A filled water bottle - we recommend reusable!
- Insect repellant, if preferred
- Sturdy gloves, if you prefer your own
