SITE GRADE A - Flat, open. Suitable for all ages and with some limited mobility.
WHAT: Volunteers will meet at the Lakehouse Bar and Grill parking lot and split into groups to clean up areas on land around Mallard Lake and down the trail to Creve Coeur Creek.
After the clean up, join us at The Audubon Center at Riverlands for our Watershed Picnic and Festival and Passport to Clean Water educational event from 11am - 2pm to celebrate our efforts and hard work! The festival will be hosted by Open Space STL, The Audubon Center at Riverlands, The Army Corps of Engineers, and Leave No Trace, and will feature free food, drinks, and activities for the whole family! We'll also have a trash contest!. Did you find the biggest trash? The weirdest trash? The most bottles of Fireball? Bring them to the picnic for bragging rights... and prizes!
WHEN: 8:30am-12pm, Saturday, April 12th. Volunteer check-in will begin around 8:15am.
WHERE: Mallard Lake, Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park, 2160 Creve Coeur Mill Rd, St. Louis, MO 63146. Check-in will be at the Lakehouse Bar and Grill parking lot - see map for exact location.
WHAT TO WEAR:
- Dress for the weather
- Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty
- Closed-toe sturdy shoes or waterproof boots
- Hat & sunscreen
WHAT TO BRING:
- A filled water bottle - we recommend reusable!
- Insect repellant, if preferred
- Sturdy gloves, if you prefer your own
