Volunteer: BioBlitz along Gravois Greenway/Gravois Creek Conservation Area

WHAT: Be a scientist for a day! On September 20th, the Missouri Department of Conservation, Great Rivers Greenway, and community partners invite you to take part in an all day BioBlitz! Help us record as many species as possible within 24 hours, from birds and bugs to plants and pollinators, in a single area along the Gravois Greenway/Gravois Creek Conservation Area

Guided group times:

Birds: 7am-9amTerrestrial Inverts/Pollinators: 9am-11amHerbaceous/Fungi: 11am-1pmWoodies: 1pm-3pmAquatic: 3pm-5pmBats 7pm-9pmNighttime Insects and Pollinators: 7pm-9pm

WHAT TO WEAR:

Clothes, we recommend long pants and sleeves Sturdy shoes or boots Dress for the weather!

WHAT TO BRING

A filled bottle of water - we recommend reusable! FlashlightBug/tick spray, and some will be provided

Pre-registration is encouraged in case of event rescheduling or cancellation This volunteer opportunity is open to all ages.  The annual OS-STL liability waiver must be signed and approved before a volunteer can register for this opportunity. Volunteer: Bike with Your Boots On, Grants Trail

River des Peres Watershed Coalition invites experienced water quality monitors and interested citizens to participate in Bike with Your Boots On on Gravois Creek Greenway in St. Louis!

Join us on September 27 at 9:00 a.m. Meet at the Tesshire Trailhead parking lot at the intersections of Grants Trail and Tesshire Drive, St. Louis, Missouri. No experience in water quality testing is required, but trained stream team monitors are needed. Trained water quality monitors will collect water quality monitoring data from sites and can offer opportunities for new trainees or interested citizens to observe.

Volunteers can bike ride on the greenway trail or drive directly to the monitoring sites. Everyone must wear a bike helmet if bike riding. Please bring a water bottle to keep hydrated and be prepared for the possibility of getting your feet wet. We can use the data collected throughout the day to have a snapshot of the health of the River des Peres watershed.
